About the role:
We are looking for a project officer to join our Country Programme Team. Reporting to the Country Programme Manager, the incumbent will monitor adherence and compliance with established national regulations and standards and achievement of quality standards through monitoring and evaluation and other reviews.
The position is only filled locally in CBM South Sudan. Contractual conditions of the country will be applied expatriation is not intended.
These are your responsibilities
Project Development & Partner Engagement
- Lead project design, including concept notes, logframes, narratives, and budgets.
- Identify and onboard partners in coordination with the Country Director and relevant teams.
- Support partner assessments and address programmatic and governance gaps.
Capacity Strengthening & Coordination
- Plan and deliver partner capacity-building activities.
- Coordinate project implementation and ensure activities are delivered on time and to quality standards.
- Manage budget or activity changes, ensuring alignment with CBM and donor requirements.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting & Learning (MERL)
- Conduct monitoring visits and evaluations; document and share learnings.
- Review reports and budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Support audits and follow up on agreed actions.
Compliance, Risk & Systems Management
- Monitor partner compliance and manage project risks.
- Maintain up-to-date project information in PROMIS/NGO Online systems.
Internal & External Coordination
- Ensure effective collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Represent CBM externally when delegated by the Country Director.
These are your qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Project Management, International Development, or a related field
- Experience in project management within the INGO sector or similar environment.
- Strong skills in project planning, execution, monitoring, and use of management tools (iPCM, logframe, etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and timelines effectively.
- Good understanding of thematic areas relevant to CBM’s mission; specialist in project management, generalist in thematic content.
- Proficient in financial and programmatic analysis to support informed decision-making.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Collaborative, solutions-oriented, and adaptable to changing contexts.
- Culturally sensitive with strong attention to detail.
- Professional proficiency in English ; local language an asset.
- Identification with Christian values and the mandate of CBM
