About the Role: 
We are seeking a Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Advisor to provide technical expertise and strategic guidance to our humanitarian programmes. The role supports the design, implementation, and quality assurance of inclusive MHPSS interventions in fragile and humanitarian contexts, in line with CBM’s MHPSS Framework and global standards. 
You will work closely with CBM Country Offices and partners, contribute to programme development and learning, and represent CBM in relevant technical and coordination forums. This position is locally hired and may be based in one of the following CBM locations:Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Abuja (Nigeria), Amman (Jordan), or Bensheim or Berlin (Germany).
This is a part-time position (29 hours per week) with a fixed-term contract of 18 months.

You will:

  • Support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of MHPSS components within humanitarian programs. 
  • Contribute to the expansion of CBM’s MHPSS work in humanitarian contexts. 
  • Develop training materials, tools, and guidance for inclusive MHPSS in line with global frameworks. 
  • Support quality assurance, learning, and documentation of best practices. 
  • Build and maintain networks and partnerships related to MHPSS. 
  • Represent CBM in external technical forums and provide expert advice and advocacy. 

These are your qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., mental health, psychiatry, psychology, psychosocial disability).  
  • Experience working in low- and middle-income countries, ideally in humanitarian contexts. 
  • Experience supporting partners and building capacity through training, coaching, or supervision. 
  • Strong understanding of disability-inclusive development and its application to mental health. 
  • Strong intercultural and conflict-sensitive skills. 
  •  Willingness to travel to humanitarian contexts. 
  • Fluency in English is required; French and/or Spanish are an advantage.    
  • Identification with Christian values and the mandate of the CBM.
