To keep pace with the growth of the Nigerian Country Office, we are looking for an Expert Financial Operations to be based in Abuja.
The work hours for this position is 40 Hours/week.
This position is only filled locally with contractual conditions of the respective country. An expatriation is not intended.

These are your responsibilities

  • Enables and creates a conducive environment to enhance business performance and ensuring seamless delivery of services to the Business Unit.
  • Ensures CBM policies and procedures are implemented and followed diligently, promoting a culture of compliance and integrity within the organization.
  • Sets up comprehensive monitoring system for measuring success, quality assurance and process compliance.
  • Leads and collaboratively works to define processes and make necessary changes to assure efficiency in financial operations.
  • Ensures timely and completeness in processing of transactions and administrative tasks on all financial operations in the Country Office.
  • Supports robust investment and asset management in the business unit in alignment with respective owner of asset and/or LCDF requirements as may be relevant.
  • Enable the setup of strong internal control systems that will support and ensure compliance control of procurement.
  • Manage year end closing processes for statutory and regulatory reporting such as external statutory audits and filing year end reports.
  • Support Payroll input for the business unit in absence of the HR Officer.
  • Track, monitor and clarify all open items as relates to internal controls, audit reports and monthly finance checklist for the business unit.
  • Carry out any other related functions/tasks as maybe guided from time to time by line manager and other senior colleagues.
  • Maintains and implements financial accounting practices that will help enhance business performance and ensuring seamless delivery of services to the business unit.
  • Ensures timely and completeness in processing of transactions and administrative tasks on all financial operations in the deployed business unit.
  • Smooth running of financial operations in liaison with the Team manager financial operations.
  • Ensure regular maintenance/update of accounting records, that assure reliability and integrity of financial management information systems in a Regional/Country Office.

These are your qualifications

  • Holder of an academic degree in accounting, business management or similar.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in a senior position, preferably with an international development organisation.
  • Professional qualifications in accounting an advantage (CPA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Customer oriented working.
  • Ready to learn and solution oriented.
  • Good understanding of Processes, Systems & Applications.
  • Excellent in Data management.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and MS Sharepoint Solutions.
  • Good knowledge of English.
  • Identification with Christian values and the mandate of the CBM
