To keep pace with growth and reinforce our Country Office team, we are looking for a suitable candidate to fill the position of State Project Officer, Imo State, Nigeria.
The work hours for this position is 40 hours/week.
This position is filled locally, with contractual conditions of the respective country. An expatriation is not intended.

These are your responsibilities

  • The State Project Officer (SPO) – EEHC will be responsible for project coordination and implementation of ATScale projects in Imo state.
  • S/he will work in close collaboration with stakeholders, local partners who are implementing IEH &EHC programmes in Nigeria. S/he will work with the Project Coordinator -EEHC to support the smooth implementation of EEHC project activities in the CBM- AT scale project state in Nigeria.
  • Support the Programme Coordinator CBID in providing effective management and coordination of Eye, Ear and Hearing Care (EHC) component of AT scale project to ensure delivery of set targets.
  • Coordinate AT scale stakeholders and partners related activities through working with different implementing partners to ensure adherence to project plans, work plans and budgets for the achievement of planned project outputs.
  • Review project objectives to ensure that they are in line with donor strategy.
  • Support partner teams to identify and develop innovative approaches for the delivery of AT scale programming in Nigeria.
  • Coordinate the preparation of activity-related reports as well as quarterly and annual reports to CBM/ donors as may be required.
  • Maintain data and reports on routine project activities and report back to Project Coordinator on a frequent basis.
  • Support reporting requirements from donors and other stakeholders.
  • Support the project team in maintaining accurate information for reporting to donors and supporting other day-to-day operational needs.
  • Support routine budget monitoring and periodic budget reviews (annual, quarterly, etc.).
  • Support the project team in organizing workshops, training programmes, and related project events at the state or national level, as needs arise.
  • Provide support to partners in ensuring good understanding of CBM’s CBID standards.
  • Provide support to the Programme Coordinator in planning capacity building for partners to ensure quality.
  • Ensure sharing of lessons learnt and promote best practices with CBM and partner organizations.
  • Support CBM's partners to produce quality reports and review them before submission to CBM offices and the government.
  • Provide administration and communications support to the team, under the guidance of the Project Coordinator.
  • Ensure that the project abides by CBM procedures and requirements of CBM and donor.
  • Ensure timely submission of project briefs, and quarterly and annual narrative reports as required.
  • Be responsible for updating information for the project in CBM’s Project Management Information System (ProMIS).

These are your qualifications

  • Relevant academic degree in Public Health, Project management, Sciences, or related disciplines (post-graduate degree will be an advantage).
  • At least 5 years' experience in Programme/ project management, ideally in the INGO sector.
  • Technical knowledge of Public and Community health in Nigeria.
  • Understanding of Disability Inclusive Development.
  • Experience in working with partner groups will be an added advantage.
  • Understanding of the health system in Nigeria.
  • Experience in monitoring, evaluation and research.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while juggling and coordinating multiple/conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to integrate into a multi-cultural environment.
  • Must be proactive, seeking to do things differently, and to solve problems effectively and efficiently.
  • Have a good understanding of project cycle and advocacy initiatives.
  • Reflects CBM values in daily work.
