To expand our Eastern Mediterranean team we are looking for a
Project Officer – Capacity Building and Inclusion focal point for Palestinian Territories
The position is a full time position with 40 h/week.
This position is only filled locally. With contractual conditions of the respective country. An expatriation is not intended.
These are your responsibilities
- Support the facilitation of monthly meetings of the Disability Task Force Gaza, focusing on knowledge sharing and joint planning for disability inclusion actions. Meeting minutes will be shared with relevant bodies, including key Palestinian organizations.
- Ensure coordination and information sharing with relevant representatives.
- Coordinate with clusters representatives to include disability and inclusion-focused agenda items in the relevant Palestinian network meetings and response.
- Support key stakeholders in inclusive project cycle management including design, measure, and reporting on inclusive programming, ensuring that initiatives are disability-inclusive , while focusing on the thematic priority areas of the project.
- Provide guidance on capacity-building solutions to support inclusive programming.
- Conduct targeted training sessions for (disability) focal points in the relevant working groups.
- Develop monitoring tools together with the partner to ensure that programme outcomes are met.
- Document and ensure sharing of material related to disability inclusion to support partners and focal points with up-to-date resources.
These are your qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in capacity-building, program coordination, and/or GBV, MHPSS, disability inclusion.
- Familiarity with international standards for inclusive programming, such as the IASC guidelines on the inclusion of persons with disabilities in humanitarian action, and an understanding of the local context in Palestine.
- Strong communication and advocacy skills and experience working with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-agency environment, promoting open dialogue and strategic partnerships.
- Ability to travel to Palestine.
