To enrich our Team Business Development Institutional Donors, we are looking forward to recruiting a Global Partnership Specialist*!
This position is only filled locally in one of the following locations: Berlin or Bensheim (Germany), UK (remote), Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania), Goma (DRC), Guatemala City, Kampala (Uganda), Nairobi (Kenya), Niamey (Niger). Other CBM locations could be considered.
These are your responsibilities
- Driven by demand, support the inception and implementation of processes and systems, including strategic forecasting and anticipative approaches to pursue strategic funding opportunities with focus on larger volume opportunities and consortia in new CBM contexts
- Support proposal development and new funding opportunities, from early-stage assessments to strategic discussions internally and with external partners in close coordination with Institutional & Domestic Donor Teams
- Capture and contribute towards learning and development at all organizational levels throughout the business development cycle, with particular focus on improvement in contexts where tools/practices are adapted and improved.
- Implementation of institutional strengthening and capacitybuilding activities / forum, with particular focus on Country Program Managers and technical teams, specifically through supporting adoption, acceptance, and application of tools.
- Documenting knowledge management and applying lessons learned throughout the Business Development Cycle.
- Continuous review and refinement of processes around the BD and the project development cycle across CBM’s programs, reinforcing cross-context collaboration.
- Support existing teams and introduce good practices and tools that contribute to the formation and submission of high-quality and impactful proposals, including through proposal writing and/or coordination to ensure project design adheres to sector best practices and responds to needs in light of CBM’s mission.
- Support existing teams in opportunity-identification and horizon-scanning techniques for new strategic prospects
These are your qualifications
- University degree in international development or related field.
- More than five years of cumulative expertise and knowledge developing institutional and bilateral donor relationships.
- More than three years of cumulative expertise and knowledge cultivating partnerships and working in institutional donor-funded consortia with peer international and local/national actors
- Demonstrably successful background in leading bid writing for grants for international institutional donors, such as EU, US Government, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, UN Agencies, etc.., particularly through consortia agreements
- Experience analyzing and leading a diverse range of bids with experience in leading best practice across complex and highvalue grants, across a range of donor agencies and a variety of funding mechanisms
- Experience contributing to and maintaining knowledge management systems, documenting and applying lessons learned
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including writing and editing proposals and coordinating input from technical experts, finance, and other stakeholders from international, regional and country offices.
- Structured, quality- and solution-oriented approach to work
- High professional & social competence and diplomatic skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills
- Very good knowledge of English
- Additional languages a plus, especially French, Arabic and German
- Willingness to travel to partner countries
- Identification with the Christian values and the mandate of CBM
