About the role:
As part of our commitment to NTD elimination, CBM is hiring a Global NTD Advisor to provide technical expertise and support in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of CBM’s NTD Programmes, with a focus on our work in trachoma elimination. You will also direct the integration of standards into planning and operational activity, including accreditation, staffing, and more, while serving as a key resource and advisor in the technical discipline to in-country staff, developing support materials, guides, and publications based on field needs.   
 
This position is only filled locally in one of CBM permanent established entities. (ex: Bensheim (Germany), Cambridge (UK), The US, Nairobi (Kenya), Abuja (Nigeria), Lomé (Togo), Yaoundé (Cameroon), Lusaka (Zambia), Addis Abeba (Ethiopia), Guatemala City, Kampala (Uganda), Niamey (Niger), etc.). 
Local contractual conditions of the respective country will apply. An expatriation is not intended.

You Will:

  • Ensure CBM-supported NTD programmes align with global priorities while addressing regional and country-specific needs.
  • Provide technical leadership and support in programme implementation, service quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Analyse global and regional NTD policies, trends, data, and research to inform divisional leadership on CBM’s disease elimination priorities.  
  • Facilitate evidence gathering and epidemiological assessments to inform NTD interventions and disease prevalence.
  • Provide or facilitate epidemiological support for disease surveillance efforts (e.g., Tropical Data), including country-specific protocol planning and survey team training.
  • Support country programmes in conducting trachoma impact and surveillance surveys, TT-only surveys, and LF transmission assessment surveys (TAS).
  • Develop evidence-based tools, including guidelines, training modules, and toolkits to disseminate best practices in NTD implementation.
  • Conduct project visits to assess implementation progress and service quality, offering actionable recommendations.
  • Build technical and programmatic capacity of CBM and partner staff through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
  • Represent CBM in global and regional NTD networks and technical fora, ensuring the latest developments are reflected in program design and implementation. 
      
      

You Have:

  • Master’s degree or higher with 10+ years’ experience in public health or related field, including progressive leadership of technical and programme activities in donor-funded health initiatives at national and regional levels.
  • Proven ability to analyse quantitative and qualitative data, with knowledge of M&E tools, guidelines, and reporting procedures.
  • Skilled in collaboration with Ministries of Health, WHO, donors, NGOs, and other agencies. 
    Proficient in statistical software (e.g., Stata, SPSS, SAS).
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Experience in disability-inclusive development is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of public health, eye health stakeholders in CBM programme countries, and key global and continental networks; experience in advocacy and influencing preferred.
  • Background in operational research, training, coaching, or teaching.
  • Professional fluency in English required; French highly desirable.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 30%.
