About the role:
As Country Director at CBM Tanzania, you will manage the organisation’s operations, leading a country programme with an operational scope typically ranging between USD 3–10 million. You will ensure quality delivery across all stages of programme development and implementation, with a focus on strategic programming opportunities that strengthen CBM’s relevance and reach. You will also strengthen CBM’s presence in the country and represent the organisation to donors, government authorities, partners, the media, and local communities to maintain a strong and credible organisational profile. This includes coordinating the Board and the Annual General Assembly in line with CBM’s governance requirements.
You Will:
- Fulfil the role of Country Director to deliver CBM’s Disability and Inclusive Development work in the country.
- Lead the development and effective implementation of CBM’s Country Plan and its operational requirements, ensuring high-quality performance and alignment with CBM’s Federation strategy.
- Ensure strong financial discipline within the Country Office and work with partners to meet all operational and financial reporting requirements.
- Identify programme opportunities and areas where the organisation can demonstrate its value and relevance.
- Promote CBM’s vision and Country Plan to external stakeholders, including through the development of effective relationships with other organisations.
- Represent CBM to partners, local and national governments, other development organisations, voluntary agencies, in-country media, donor agencies, and local communities to influence the country’s development agenda towards inclusion and poverty alleviation.

These are your qualifications
- Relevant academic degree in Social Sciences, Global Development, Public Health, Humanities or a related field.
- At least 10+ years of professional experience, including 5 years in senior management within INGOs or development settings, preferably in disability or related sectors.
- Strong skills in strategic planning, as well as project and financial management.
- Proven ability in advocacy, partnership-building, and influencing policy.
- Solid experience in organisational development and change management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and intercultural skills.
- Experience in disability inclusion or promoting disability rights is an added advantage.
- Candidates with lived experience of disability are strongly encouraged to apply.
