The successful candidate will provide technical and operational support in the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of CBM's construction projects globally. The role primarily supports RTL/SDL and LCDF-funded projects, with a particular focus on the construction, rehabilitation, and upgrading of healthcare facilities. Working closely with country offices, implementing partners, consultants, and other stakeholders.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for a period of one (1) year, with 37.5 h/working hours per week
This position is only filled locally. With contractual conditions of the respective country. An expatriation is not intended.
These are your responsibilities
- Coordination of planning and design process of medium to large construction projects, mainly health care buildings, under RTL/SDL funding.
- Supporting CBM Partner organizations, local architect firms, CBM Country Offices and CBM Institutional Donors Division during planning and implementation of RTL/SDL projects.
- Site supervision and progress reporting of construction projects, ensuring alignment with RTL/SDL programme goals and donor requirements.
- Coordination of tendering processes and selection of construction firms for the respective construction projects ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
- Ensure compliance with local and international health and safety regulations and standards for accessibility.
- Integrate sustainable, accessible, and cost-effective design practices.
- Reporting and documentation of the various stages of project phases
- Coordinating with other consultants such as structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers in the delivery of the project
- Incorporating feedback from hospital management, pediatric specialists, and CBM representatives
These are your qualifications
- University degree in architecture, construction/civil engineering, structural engineering or related field
- A valid professional license in the respective field of profession
- Proven experience in designing healthcare facilities, preferably pediatric units.
- Experience with tendering and awarding construction services for the public sector
- A strong portfolio demonstrates similar projects.
- Proficiency in architectural software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D modelling tool, is an advantage
- Familiarity with local building codes and international healthcare design standards.
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Previous experience in infrastructure accessibility, universal design, and disability inclusion is an advantage
- Identification with Christian values and the mandate of the CBM
